Idaho In-N-Out Gunman Identified After Deadly Attack Police have identified 24-year-old Chad Williams as the gunman who killed two people and wounded seven others in a mass shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho on Saturday. (Video: AI) Williams opened fire with an AR-style rifle around 2 p.m. before taking his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said Williams acted alone. “We want to take a moment and commend the actions of the off-duty officer and this citizen and their heroic action to stop this incident,” Hicks said. “We believe their actions helped drive the suspect away from the scene, preventing further casualties.” An In-N-Out employee was among the two killed. Of the seven wounded, two have been released, three are stable, and two remain in critical condition. A motive has not been determined. The investigation continues. He arrived around 2007 as an international student, earned a master’s degree, started businesses in Connecticut, and settled in Norwich. In 2025 he became the first Sikh mayor in New England. Now, as mayor, he says his city will not cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. In a public statement he said no one in Norwich should fear going to work or school because of their immigration status. He stated that the Norwich Police Department follows the Connecticut Trust Act and will not assist ICE. He also echoed Governor Lamont, saying: “ICE, go home. You are not welcomed here.”
