“When I say I hate school, I mean I hate school itself. I hate doing school things, but I love learning. I love those “aha!” moments that make my brain feel big and adrenaline course through my body, but they usually don’t happen in school for me.” buff.ly/2TDRjik
@courosa Make it a completion game! Create a chart together, set goals, for how many sight words they want to memorize per day/week. When they reach the goal they can keep increasing it to see if they can beat their “high score” from the previous day/week and have prizes along the way!
Hey early childhood educators - what are your best tips for teaching sight words to a bright but very reluctant, limited attention 6yr-old. #edchat#elemchat
You're not grading assignments.
You're collecting evidence to determine student progress and pointing them towards their next steps.
Make the mental switch. It matters.
@courosa Best advice: “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
It’s all about the relationships we are building with our students and their families

We loved reviewing our addition strategies with a gallery walk today. Hearing the students have authentic math talks with each other about how to solve each problem was the highlight of my day! #cusdlearns#mathtalks#maglionpride@MagPrincipal
