it’s both a blessing and a curse to have a large close knit family because the reality of the matter is eventually all will die and your heart will be ruptured at every single passing.

people are so weird when you tell them someone in your family died and the first question they ask you is “were you close?” So they can decide how much sympathy to give you, like does it matter? someone died, weirdos.

anyone that marries into my family is extremely blessed and lucky because everyone is so accepting and loving and will love you like you came directly from our bloodline and everyone that has married in can testify. I really am because of family structure of love.

I lost my strong, healthy, youthful Uncle to a sudden heart attack yesterday and the pain is immeasurable. Having to explain to people that even though he was my late Aunts husband he meant so much to all of us including me, I am the saddest I’ve been in a very long time 😔

@BreenyLee Exactly. Can't assess "character" on the fly and simply reject someone outright - based on the job they're in at the time you meet them. I think that was Iyanla's point.

@ItzA11Gucci you can’t assume she “knew” that’s operating in bad faith. when men and woman love eachother but something is missing it takes a while to completely make a decision, she probably really tried to make it work since he had all the qualities, in the end she made the right choice.

Good for her, when you feel that check in your spirit, do not proceed. You can’t force a shoe to fit no matter how good the shoe looks… Better a broken engagement than a broken marriage.

@BreenyLee Remember the level of judgement you use against others may well be used against you. Leaving others to ridicule you for Why you are not this or that. Just be cautious wisdom is more than just saying things that sound wise.
