ALERT: American tourists arrested in Japan for climbing into a monkey enclosure in Japan, where viral baby monkey ‘Punch’ lives.
Ichikawa City Zoo, outside Tokyo, has attracted many domestic and international visitors since a picture of a baby monkey named Punch was posted clutching a stuffed IKEA orangutan plush after being rejected by his mother.
Neal Duan, 27, allegedly filmed Reid Dayson,22, scaling the fence and dropping into the dry moat to the monkey exhibit.
A zoo official quickly apprehended Dayson before he could get close to the animals, while another apprehended Duan for filming Dayson perform the stunt.
Dayson, who told police he was a student, and Duan, who told police he was a singer, were arrested on charges of forcible obstruction of business, which they refute.
