I've a Bank of Ireland MasterCard which qualifies me for 2 free flights with Aer Lingus. I've attempted to book flights and been refused coming up on 20 times ! Great sales ploy. Offer something then don't allow your customer to actually avail of the service ! Not impressed !!

@TomCantonMedia It is a clear and obvious error. So VAR does what it’s supposed to do. On a wider note, VAR should be used, imo, in a manner that re-referees the game. Too much emphasis is being put on letting the referee’s decision stand, largely regardless of its right or wrong.

It is very important that the audio for this incident is released. VAR is not there to re-referee games nor is it there to interfere unless there has been a clear and obvious error. If the VAR has to “guide” or “really explain” to the referee what he’s seeing or not seeing…

@MrDtAFC Completely agree. Var only meant to get involved in a clear and obvious error ! It's subjective as you say whether White can get across. The referees decision shouldn't have been overturned as nobody knows whether White could have made it or not ? Therefore he was re-referreed.

I'm sorry but if that's your team you are fuming about it. We have had to listen to Howard Webb waffle on about “common sense” and VAR not being used to re-referee the game. The referee has had a very clear view of the whole incident, and he has deemed it a yellow card offence. He has judged the distance from goal, Ben White, and he has made his decision. It's not an error. It's a subjective decision that everyone can have different opinions on. His opinion is that it is not a sending-off, but because the referee on VAR has a different one and deems it is. He has to change it. That is re-refereeing the game. I'm sorry but it's fucking corrupt. If you cannot see what I am explaining you need to watch another sport. I'm bored of it.
