I don't know why but I just find that rewarding someone who has caused all the animosity and infighting within the party nauseating. Is it just me?

1/ The stakes could not be higher for the country. As someone who helped elect Boris in 2019, served loyally in his cabinet, now is not the right time for a return. We need serious, competent leadership and the best person to deliver this is @RishiSunak

Boris didn't back anyone, let alone Truss. It's untrue. The very thing Maitlis and co are supposed to call out, not create. Political hacks are always decrying the loss of trust in UK politics yet they're happy to reduce trust further by adding their own conspiracy theories.

Worth considering this could be exactly the end game Boris Johnson had in mind when he endorsed a weak candidate he could see would quickly and irredeemably fail. Whilst it may look like a shambles from the outside, it might just have been playbook politics…

@dazdryden1 @linmac232 @yelseldusty At the moment Labour does not need a LibDem electoral pact, but if there is a Conservative recovery in the polls then they will. A Con/Reform electoral pact is needed to counteract a Lab/LibDem pact.

I think recent events mean resort to US Army acronyms: the Conservative Party is well and truly FUBAR. It has finally failed the test of a realignment in the electorate. Next few years we find out if Labour can pass it - the signs are not good.

Con Eurosceptic MPs inside Parl & Nigel/UKIP/BXP outside, together made Brexit possible. This time we must put all our faith in Con MPs & BJ to deliver.

My preference would be for Britain to focus on getting its hands on any source of energy it possibly can so that the lights don't go out and the country isn't plunged into devastating economic crisis as everyone spends every last penny on utilities bills. But maybe that's just me
