Can we develop a paradigm to study the neural response to socially communicated threats in a rodent model? We used rat ultrasonic vocalizations🐁, custom earbuds🎧, and fMRI🧠 to see how the brain responds to aversive and appetitive calls

One hour and a handful of minutes turns out not to be enough time to talk about the evolving concepts of sex & gender it turns out. Had a great time on the panel with these amazing people. It’s imp for all of us to think (& rethink) abt our opinions & theories to achieve progress

Elena will continue to be a force of kindness, humor, and brilliance through the countless people that she touched while she was here. The shock of losing her is still very raw for all of us, but I know that in the largest sense, she hasn't gone anywhere
