@EmmMacfarlane As a GenXer, I often think of how much better it was growing up in the 80s and 90s than our children’s generation, who’ve grown up with global terrorism, financial instability, war, political enmity, climate, pestilence, pandemics and unattainable housing.

@rexparker I took up the @nytimes crossword during the pandemic and have started getting good at it. Today’s puzzle was so awful I deliberately decided to break my streak.

lol you should definitely write complaint letters to the NYT and quote me they’ll love that I’m sure (I genuinely lol’d at the last line and its sweet, resigned, “I’ll be dead soon” matter-of-factness)

@TheGameSheet Trudeau Sr, or Mulroney or Chretien. We need a tough Mofo right now.

Feel like we here in Ontario could use a "Just watch me," moment from Trudeau Jr. right now.

#BREAKING: @fordnation office: “While we appreciate the Prime Minister’s offer, unless it is matched with an increase in supply, we do not need the Red Cross at this time for the administration of vaccines in Ontario. We do not have a capacity issue, we have a supply issue.”

These announcements are starting to look ridiculous. They remind me of the old trade junkets where they would come back with billions of dollars of “signed deals”.

Canada has signed a deal to acquire 8 more million doses of Pfizer's #COVID19 vaccine, with 4M of those doses to arrive in the month of May, announces PM Trudeau. The news comes as Moderna says its upcoming vaccine shipment to Canada will be cut from 1.2M to 650K doses. #cdnpoli

If Rt is 1.2 (which is a good estimate for Rt right now) and you assume that an infected person takes 5 days to infect whomever they're going to infect, then in 25 days, you would see cases of (cases today) x (1.2)^(25/5) = 4736x1.2^5 = 11,784

They’re all wrong. They’re treating this like a peace time rollout, worried about peace time liabilities and normal course pharma regulatory approaches. We need a wartime stance at this point. Give needles to the soldiers and start sticking them into arms.
