NEW: In the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona’s phone outages, Nova Scotia’s provincial government has tabled legislation that would require telecommunications companies to do more before, during, and after the next storm. Penalties for non-compliant companies could be $250,000/day.

My aunt and uncle are visiting from Ont and yesterday when they were out and about they saw @Brett_CBC. They told him they were fans and he chatted with them and they said he was just lovely and kind. Thank you, Brett, for giving them a great vacation memory!

@callondabulshit Great question! (I didn’t realize it looked weird until now.) All has to do with the main camera’s shot. Moving her farther from the lens lets me zoom to a longer focal length which distorts faces less than a wide shot. And it tightens the depth of field for softer backgrounds.
