16 years ago tonight, Gordon Brown resigned - and things got a bit heated about what would happen to British politics next…

Sorry, what??? No penalty? 😳 I think #AstonVila remains the team that has received more wrong ref decisions in the last two seasons (admitted by refs bosses)

There’s loads I could say, most has already been said, but the pause after Emi’s dancing feet. That was the moment. Players blast that ball, but he just waited - so calm - and picked Ollie out perfectly. To do that, under pressure, was top class. #avfc

Villa playing the margins so much they’ll have to win every game between now and the end of the season. Picked a team that says ‘don’t care’. That spreads. Performed like they don’t care. Stupid, IMO. Puts massive pressure on Thursday and beyond. #avfc

@danbardell @The1874Podcast Are we aware of any metrics/milestones that will see us ‘free’ of SCR limits? Eg. hit £Xm of annual revenue? qualify for Champs League for X number of seasons? Despite revenue up and the Duran/Ramsey sales last year, it seems we’re in a never ending cycle still. Where’s the line?

People are all entitled to their opinion on Ollie. A lot of it is very valid, and I understand it. But I always think his achievements have been unfairly underrated. We’ve had great strikers, but they’ve burned brightly and gone. He’s been less flashy. But no less good. #avfc

At some point, senior Premier League execs have to offer a proper explanation in public for their leniency towards Chelsea. They owe an explanation to fans of clubs punished more harshly. They owe an explanation to those clubs who did abide by the rules. They have to offer some explanation as to why PSR breaches are deemed far more serious than acts of "deception and concealment". Yes, these are the offences of a previous regime at Chelsea. But inconsistencies run through the PL's defence and their reputation is damaged. They can’t hide from a controversy of this magnitude.
