The election results today have clearly been tough for Labour. I’m sorry that we’ve lost so many brilliant Labour colleagues across the country, and thank them for their service. And I’m sorry that so many voters felt unable to vote Labour at these elections. @Keir_Starmer has taken responsibility and committed all of us to delivering on the mandate the country gave us at the last election. The Labour Party shouldn’t waste a minute of the time we’ve been given to get on with that job. If we turn inwards the public will think we’re walking away from that challenge. The next election will have unity or division on the ballot. A Britain built for all, or a Britain for the few. Britain is at its best when we come together and rise to the challenges of our time. And Labour is at its best when our values of equality, collectivism and unity power our project for the British people. We can deliver a better Britain in the years ahead and beat the prospect of division at the next election, but only if we come together, get on with the job and face the future.

I want to thank @Eluned_Morgan for the over 30 years of service she has already given to our country and our party. Eluned has been a formidable First Minister and tireless champion for Wales. She broke barriers and has never stopped fighting for families in the communities she loves. Together we have worked to lift children out of poverty, cut hospital waiting lists, and create thousands of new jobs. I have no doubt her contribution to Wales will endure.

Labour was elected to change this country. That is what the public want, and what they deserve. Tough days like today don’t weaken our determination to deliver that change. They strengthen it.

A tough set of elections for the party. Labour was elected to change the country. We will work harder than ever to keep that promise.

Labour is on your side.🌹

Vote Labour today. 🌹

When souls are corrupt & all they want is to gratify their own needs, they can’t tolerate light in others. They repel it & don’t feel comfortable in its presence. Keir Starmer’s genuinely a good pure soul. He has been treated shamefully by many. I hope the good rise up & support.

From Bury to Rochdale, Lambeth to home in Wigan, it’s been brilliant to campaign with Labour teams over the last few weeks. Everywhere I’ve been, I’ve met Labour councillors and campaigners working hard every day to deliver for the communities they serve. 🌹

Polls are open! Vote Labour today 🌹
