@alanyeske Volyn massacre happened less than a century ago, so there are plenty of Poles that could’ve had their relatives directly affected by UPA
I heard a story from my friend about an Eastern Ukrainian teacher murdered in the 1950s by Banderites for teaching Russian in Western Ukraine

Ukraine doesn’t need to apologise for Volyn to their Polish partners if they simply stop glorifying UPA, but they can’t do that since without figures like Bandera they would only have Soviet Ukrainian heroes left, with Ukraine then viewed as merely a unique part of Russia

This is why I've always supported the idea of cooperating with Poland's actual brothers, the other Western Slavs, many Czechs were targeted by UPA and many of them fought alongside AK against them
