DO NOT use the “PROMOTE” feature on YouTube if you’re a Creator… It’s not for you if you’re not doing advertising for your DTC or SaaS business or if you’re not a local small business owner marketing your brand on YouTube.., Small YouTubers… this is not your path to exposure or “pay to win”. DONOT USE THIS FEATURE… It’s not for you… it’s for brands…

@robertoblake mentioned that small creators should not use the ‘Promote’ feature. So agree, this is an old topic, that’s now new with the placement of ‘Promotions’ inside YT. When’s the last time you heard of a creator who’s just getting started using ‘Promotions’ with success?

@GeorgeBlackman_ Nice George, I actually thought that today with a big video I’m working. Been writing for days, and since I am aiming at a mini doc style it really needs more structure out of the gate. Creating each section first and then starting to write. That will happen on my next.

I split every script into segments… …and each segment needs a payoff… …but that payoff should be the last thing that happens in the segment… …before the next payoff is set up right away.

Thumbnails and titles don’t grow channels and get views. They get clicks, the algorithm on Youtube rewards watchtime and it’s been that way for well over ten years. Focus on keeping viewers watching, do that you got a shot.
