As part of Wilfried Nancy’s last contract extension with Columbus Crew, there was understanding this day may come.
Nancy wanted to go to Europe if/when opportunity was right. He also wanted to do so in MLS offseason to make sure Columbus had best chance to replace him.

Our Consensus Projected Starting XI for @stlCITYsc taking on the @ChicagoFire. It’s a combo of consistency in the attack and figuring out what combo of midfielders/fullbacks match up the best against a team who’ll focus on a wide build up vs the central strength of NSH last week Fullback depth, building off of last week’s success, might be the most we’ve had in a long time with Orozco, Wallem, Padelford and Totland. Any combination and anyone on any side is a possibility. In the midfield? It’s Löwen and… Morales is consistent but Durkin, Wallem and Ostrák are all options. After last week, starting with Ostrák at the 10 and flexibility to drop him deep is enticing. No matter what, this will be a highly discussed match day roster w/some tough choices ahead for Critchley. #AllForCITY
