24 years ago, we sat here in grief after being brutally attacked by foreign enemies. And though I’m reminded of that day, I’m also reminded of the aftermath—the fact that all Americans stood together, UNITED. I pray that one day we can get back to that unity without it taking another devastating act against us as a country. Today, we stand divided and weak. My prayer is that we learn to listen to each other and try to understand our differences instead of blindly attacking them. Because in the end, it is our differences—whether personalities, lifestyles, or beliefs—that make us strong as a country.
