BREAKING TMZ is asking for pictures of members of Congress on vacation: “If anybody goes to Disney World with their family for spring break or anywhere on vacation and you see 1 of the 535 members of Congress, take a picture & send it to us. We will post that picture on our website, on our social media, & we will put it on our television shows. We want to show what they are doing at your expense.” 👏

So, I know a lot of people are wanting to know the end of the story of searching for my biological family. I keep getting DMs and it’s very sweet. Yes, I have connected with biological family members. These are precious relationships to me, so I will not be mentioning them publicly. They do not need crazy people bothering them. But I do consider this a happy ending.

LAX is apparently doing everyone a favor by doubling the fee for all Ubers, Lyfts, taxis, and limos in an attempt to ease traffic into the airport. Officials claim the rate increase will not be passed on to the drivers or consumers. Meaning the officials have never taken an economics class and/ or believe you are stupid.

😡 LAX LUNACY JUST HIT A NEW LOW — and it’s going to make YOU late and broke! These clowns just jacked Uber/Lyft pick-up & drop-off fees by 140%+ (from $4 to $12 at the terminals!) — all to FORCE you onto their disastrous $5 BILLION 2-mile Skylink train. Here’s what the article conveniently left out: ✅ You’ll now have to haul all your luggage across the entire central terminal to a train station, wait (if it even shows up), ride the slow thing, then drag everything to your actual terminal/gate. ✅ That adds 30-60 minutes of pure hell to every arrival and departure — if the train runs at all. ✅ 30% or more of ALL drop-offs are now FORCED to the remote train station — NOT the airport itself. Meaning thousands of people will miss flights while these idiots pat themselves on the back. We already pay insane taxes just to live here… and now they’re charging us a “premium” for the privilege of reaching our own damn airport?! This insanity was approved by the Airport Commission hand-picked by @MayorOfLA @KarenBassLA - She owns every bit of this mess. Meanwhile the rich will have their car services continue to drop off & pick up right at the gate. How’s that for “equity”? The ONLY way to stop this madness and fix LAX for good? Elect @SpencerPratt as Mayor of Los Angeles.

@BriannaWu Really beautiful letter Brianna. I hope with the passage of time, they have the capacity to understand and accept. I wish you peace and love, regardless of how this proceeds. You and Frank are lucky to have each other.

Talked to the Catholic Church this morning. They are going to pass along a letter to my biological parents - if they are still alive. This is probably too honest, but I just can't help but speak from the heart. I've got to bet that they are wired the same way. These are the photos I chose. Hey! So, really no non-awkward way to do this, so I’ll just say it. I’m reaching out because I'm working to open my adoption records, and the agency you worked with in 1977 has offered to pass along a letter.  Sorry, it’s weird for me too. I’m not writing with huge expectations or pressure. But you are a part of my life I’ve wanted to understand for a long time, and I didn’t want to wait any longer to connect. A bit about me. I live in Massachusetts and work in politics and technology. I’ve been married to a wonderful man for seventeen years. I’ve done really well! I have a great house, a wild career and my work takes me around the world doing media. I love to run, and I’m ridiculously tall and thin. (Thanks for those genes!) Guess there’s no way to introduce myself without explaining why I’m not your son. I knew from a very young age that I should have been a girl, and I transitioned as an adult. My adoptive family didn’t take any of this well, and they did disown me. I have not seen them for 20 years, and it's been very difficult going through life with no family. I share it simply because it’s part of my story and I want to be honest from the start. I also want to say, I’m not angry at you for giving me up. I’ve read enough about the pressures of this era. You could not have known what I would be facing, and although emotionally I had little support, the financial security of that home did give me the skills and education to have a successful life. If you’d be open to exchanging a few emails or messages, I think we’d both have fun! I mean, what have you been up to for 48 years? Have to be stories! Either way, I hope you’re well. I want you to know I’ve built a life and I’m doing okay. I like to think the spark in me that made me able to survive difficult things came from you. Even though I don’t know you yet, I do love you, and I’m proud to be your child. I hope we can speak soon. Brianna

Endorse.
Mayor Matt Mahan@MattMahanSJ

A couple weeks ago, I came home and my wife, Silvia, said something I almost couldn’t believe.   She looked at me and she said, “I think our state needs you.” Because she believed I could help our kids. Help San José. And help California.   And if you know anything about Silvia — when she talks, you listen.   So I’m running for Governor of California — because we can do better.   I know we can, because we’re proving it in San Jose. We’ve reduced unsheltered homelessness by nearly 1/3rd after a decade of growth. We were rated the safest big city in America last year for the first time in over 20 years. We’re the only city to have solved 100% of homicides nearly 4 years running. And we’re taking on affordability with urgency and honesty — unlocking thousands of housing units in the past couple years.  We need to stand up for our rights, for our freedoms and for our neighbors. We need to use the tools we have at hand to protect our democracy. One tool is the law. The other tool is our results. We have to use both. That’s how we fix California. We don’t just need to be against something. We need to be for something — a government that proves it can solve problems for working people again. And before we ask Californians to give more, we owe them proof that their government can do better.   So I’m running to bring focus back to government. To give cities the tools they need to succeed. To show that the best resistance to division is results.   And to prove that California can work again — for everyone.   That’s why I’m running.   And that’s the future Silvia and I are fighting for. mahanforcalifornia.com

My girlfriend thinks I’m making it up. Am I the only one who remembers when you could go to the airport gate to wave goodbye to someone? No boarding pass, no security line, just standing at the window watching the plane pull away.

@jenvanlaar I drove up PCH to Zuma about 6 weeks ago. The scale of destruction and the lack of any visible work sickened me. Just miles of foundations with no buildings. It’s beyond shameful.

I spent some time in Pacific Palisades today, documenting what has and hasn't happened in the 11 months since the fires. The neglect from state and local government before, during, and after the fires is despicable and inexcusable.

One of the strongest indicators of a city in crisis is an empty mall. This is the famous Lloyd center mall who anybody over 30 knows how special it was. They are making some improvements and I hope they thrive again.

@thekimkavin @DrFreelance Exactly. I’m skeptical, but open to having a convo. In 2020, I spoke with a D candidate for state senate who got it. Sadly he withdrew from the race when called up from the military reserves. I’m hoping maybe an early convo can demonstrate there’s room for nuance. #notanappdriver

@Briana_Sharp @DrFreelance We are seeing that in New Jersey too. All of the sudden the Democrats are saying they are pro small biz here too. It would be nice if that messaging translated into actual policy that stops attacking the smallest of small-biz owners...

I have gone to Washington and testified three times now--House and Senate--trying to fix the independent-contractor policy problem. Only one Democrat has even acknowledged my presence, asking me a single question, when I was sitting directly across the table from them.

@TwitchyTeam I can't even get my reps to respond (other than the occasional boilerplate email that claims "Your concerns are important to me!" while not addressing my issue.) Is there a Fast Pass of some sort for a direct text line during hearings?
