@kennylanglea My dad was always keen to be in photos from his own camera. He used to set it up on a tripod on a timer and rush into position as in this photo. Occasionally, in haste he would knock over the tripod !

@DCsportsvalue @Brianjames47 It would be a painful and complicated process to prove ownership, especially after so many years. I'd find it far too stressful. Best to let it go...

Remembering Roy Orbison. Born this day in 1936 in Texas. American singer songwriter. Known for his impassioned singing style, complex song structures and dark, emotional ballads. His music was described by some critics as almost operatic. Also a Travelling Wilbury #RoyOrbison 🥀

@batcountry1980 Your comments are spot on. It was a great time to be a teenager when Beatlemania took over the world.

You read that they recorded the bulk of Please Please Me in one session and think “how did they do that?” Then you play this and think “seems about right” I mean, they were just a ridiculously tight live band, throwing out album worthy cuts in a BBC studio. That’s what makes this such a fantastic record. It’s like getting another couple of early albums, as the performances aren’t a kick in the arse off what they recorded in Abbey Road. In fact, some are better. Baby It’s You and Thank You Girl being two that come to mind. What I also love is the wee interviews. Because when the world fell in love with the Beatles, it wasn’t just the music that did it. It was their personalities, their charisma and humour that captured the hearts of millions. So to have those moments of them being themselves, wisecracking and joking, like the Hard Day’s Night Beatles captured on record, is a wee window into what was happening in 63-65, as Beatlemania took over the world.
