Federal judge dismisses Chalmers v NCAA, brought by 16 former athletes against the NCAA and six DI conferences. Athletes competed prior to 2016 and were seeking damages for lost NIL opportunities.

Last Friday, a football athlete from Rutgers (Jett Elad) was granted a preliminary injunction to play the upcoming season. Argued NCAA's 5-year rule didn't apply to his JC year, similar to Pavia at Vanderbilt.

Judge Wilken has instructed both parties (along with mediator) to find a resolution for the 'roster limit' provision within the next 14 days. House settlement could be in jeopardy.

On Monday, Judge Wilkins didn't rule on the proposed House settlement but she did state, "I think it's a good settlement." She asked lawyers from both sides to rethink roster limits for each sport and to provide more details on objection options for future athletes.👀
