STANLEY DRUCKENMILLER: "I SHORTED $200 MILLION OF INTERNET STOCKS IN MARCH 1999. IN THREE WEEKS I COVERED THEM AT A $600 MILLION LOSS." "I was short 12 stocks. They all went bankrupt. Every one of them." He was right on every single pick. Still lost $600M. "If you're dead wrong on a long, you can lose 100%. If you're dead wrong on a short, you can lose 10 times your money." "Frankly, I'm not sure I've ever made money in shorts. I've never had a down year, but I'm not sure I've made money in shorts. I like it. It's fun. But you can get your head handed to you." "Don't try that at home."

It just doesn’t go in like it used to for Curry. As a viewer, I don’t always think it’s going in anymore. We are all so much older

“I was at a money manager roundtable dinner where everyone was talking about “my stock this” and “my stock that”. Their attitude was that it doesn’t matter what is going to happen in the world because their favorite stock is generating free cash flow, buying back shares, and doing XYZ.” “People always forget that 50% of a stock’s move is the overall market, 30% is the industry group, and then maybe 20% is the extra alpha from stock picking. And stock picking is full of macro bets. When an equity guy is playing airlines, he’s making an embedded macro call on oil.” — Stanley Druckenmiller

It's puzzling that Mamdani simultaneously tells us that the city is ABSOLUTELY broke and NEEDS to raise taxes on people best placed to create jobs and make investments here, whilst spending more than double what it would usually cost to build this vanity project of a grocery store. But it's also a clue of just where the money is going. For every $100 collected by the government, we get what would perhaps have cost $50 on the private market, whilst it hands the other $50 to union members, NGOs and administrators.
New York Post@nypost

Staggering 8-figure sum NYC taxpayers will pay to fund Mamdani’s first city-owned grocery revealed. Read today's cover here: trib.al/CfovA96

“PIK” stands for “payment in kind”. It occurs when a borrower cannot make an interest payment and the lender wants to deny the loan has gone bad. The lender thereby lends more to a proven deadbeat, at the same interest rate of pre-deadbeat status. Whoopsie!

Sorry, Vrabel has no professional responsibility here, only @DMRussini does She covers him, not the other way around (out of bed, anyway). So, yeah, if it all goes bad, she’s the one who gets, umm, smashed. Hope it was worth it
Scott Kacsmar@ScottKacsmar

This has a chance to be one of the grossest double standards of all time if her career gets railroaded over this while nothing happens to Vrabel. And no, a divorce would not relate to his career. That's personal.

@BridgewaterBro beyond the membership argument, if those scalpers charged 10x as much as the sale price, you would have the same problem thats happening at the WC.... you all are no different lol

I just want European fans to understand this as well about the World Cup. Your ticketing system is no better. The "memberships" and then having to spend years paying to be a member before getting access to any game of consequence is just as bad.
Holden Hiscock@BridgewaterBro

@ToddFuhrman I am a massive soccer/football (European) fan with sizable disposable income and tolerance to pay a premium for a memorable experience The absolute worst tickets at Metlife for England or Germany group games are $1,100 After getting scammed with the "lottery" Fuck this

@BridgewaterBro No, that's just not true. If I wanted to go to Europe right now to watch a game, I would have to pay for a membership and hope to God that my level of membership allows me to buy single game tickets for that specific game.
