Caputo’s Bakery on Court Street, a.k.a. “the bread store,” has unexpectedly closed after 124 YEARS! They were a fifth-generation, family-run bakery for all that time. We’re all gonna need some time (and a seeded twist) to mourn this one.

New York City students, families, and educators deserve real investment in what works. Programs like Teacher Centers, United Community Schools, Member Assistance Program (MAP), Positive Learning Collaborative, Dial-a-Teacher, BRAVE, PROSE, Arts in Education, Broadway Bridges, Commonpoint, and Childcare Navigator are making a difference every single day—supporting our educators, strengthening our schools, and helping students thrive. These aren’t extras—they are essential. And we must also stand up for the dedicated paraprofessionals who support our students every day. It’s time to show respect where it’s long overdue. 👉 We’re calling on NYC Council Members to support these vital programs AND sign onto Intro 0692 — the Para Respect Check. Our schools work best when we invest in the whole community—students, families, educators, and paras alike.
