New York City students, families, and educators deserve real investment in what works.
Programs like Teacher Centers, United Community Schools, Member Assistance Program (MAP), Positive Learning Collaborative, Dial-a-Teacher, BRAVE, PROSE, Arts in Education, Broadway Bridges, Commonpoint, and Childcare Navigator are making a difference every single day—supporting our educators, strengthening our schools, and helping students thrive.
These aren’t extras—they are essential.
And we must also stand up for the dedicated paraprofessionals who support our students every day. It’s time to show respect where it’s long overdue.
👉 We’re calling on NYC Council Members to support these vital programs AND sign onto Intro 0692 — the Para Respect Check.
Our schools work best when we invest in the whole community—students, families, educators, and paras alike.
Let’s do what’s right for NYC.

this was the most important Oscar speech of the night tbh
"Mr. Nobody Against Putin is about how you lose your country. What we saw when working with this footage is that you lose it through countless small, little acts of complicity: when we act complicit when a government murders people on the streets of our major cities, when we don't say anything when oligarchs take over the media and control how we can produce it and consume it, we all face a moral choice. But luckily even a nobody is more powerful than you think."

Had a great time yesterday supporting @UFT at their paraprofessional luncheon. Our school system cannot run without the labor of our paraprofessionals and we must do better by them. I’m proud to stand with the UFT in supporting these essential workers.

📣 Call to Action: Support Our Paraprofessionals
We are calling on our City Council members to sign onto Intro 0692 — the new Para Respect legislation.
Paraprofessionals are the backbone of our schools. They support our most vulnerable students, provide critical instructional assistance, and show up every single day with dedication, compassion, and professionalism.
Intro 0692 is about fairness.
It’s about respect.
It’s about correcting long-standing inequities and valuing the essential work our paras do for our children and families.
We respectfully urge every member of the City Council to stand with educators and students by signing onto Intro 0692.
Our paraprofessionals deserve more than gratitude — they deserve action.
✍🏽 Council Members: Please add your name in support of Intro 0692 and show that you stand with those who stand with our students every day.
