@Manh_Ti3012 That's a very slick layout! Altium isn't too much better when it comes to arcs, especially when they're not "free" arcs (ie: not attached to other tracks/arcs)
English

The routing is done!
KiCad should add more way to edit arc. Being able to lock radius, center, set start/end angle and fillet arc would make designing circular PCB much easier.

My idea for a hollow shaft absolute encoder. Instead of using a diametric ring magnet (which is hard to source), it uses a hall sensor array with 2 magnets to detect rotor position This will be a cheaper and more scalable solution for hobbyist actuator.

@hasanthesyrian Give AIVON a try, we order ~$10K a month from them and they're pretty reasonable pricewise. They're also able to reduce plating from 2oz to 1.5oz on selected layers if you can't meet their trace/gap requirements for that copper weight (ie: for Nordic's QIAA footprint)

@MarioNawfal So they managed to slow the speed of light down to a crawl, in order to get the "laser" shot in the initial few seconds?

Your personal mosquito air defense system
LiDAR locks onto a mosquito in 3 milliseconds. Laser fires. Fried. Up to 30 per second and works in pitch dark.
It's called the Photon Matrix. The tech is literally descended from Reagan's Star Wars missile defense program, just shrunk down to fry bugs in your backyard.
You wanted one yesterday didn't you.

@electric_4u Nice repair, but that smallgap can easily be bridged with solder alone

@OCpatriot_ At least you had the option of installing it yourself. We'd get no manufacturers warranty, and potentially $44,000 of fines in Australia for installing while unlicensed.

Water heater died last night. 5 yrs old, still under warranty.
Called Manufacturer, they said they'd send parts, but that'd be 4-6 days. Couldn't leave my family without hot water that long.
So I called local repair company, they'd been there 5 minutes when they quoted me $1,100 to fix it. Wouldn't break it down to parts and labor until I leaned on them hard.
- $300 parts
- $800 labor
For 30-40 minutes of work. For a water heater that cost me $700 with sales tax.
I called the manufacturer back and told them the situation and that I planned on buying a new unit at The Home Depot and install it myself (I'd installed my current one).
Rheem said no problem, take your old one with you and we'll give you full credit towards your new one.
With the military discount from my buddy that was helping me, I was out of pocket a whole $65 when it was all said and done, and even traded up a model with a longer warranty.
Thank you Rheem, thank you Home Depot.
Fuck off predatory appliance repair companies.

@AnxiousHolly Honored to be included in the list!

I just went to my local @JaycarAU store to pick up some DIP packaged 555 timers from the old fashioned component cabinets behind the counter, and the guy knew exactly where they were, and asked if I wanted the standard bipolar version.
All is right with the world.

@hasanthesyrian That's one slick looking PCB! Love the constellations in the middle and the Arabic text.

@ZloNoNameSov I know someone into resin crafts. Over time she became lax about safety and started getting it on her skin. She developed a rash and severe swelling all over her body, took weeks to resolve. Now it happens if she's anywhere near uncured resin. Sensitisation is a bitch!

@blind_via Distributed across 600mm x 150mm though... Our previous fab insisted on deleting ~90% of them because they were "not necessary" and would take too long (they said a week of drilling for an order of 250 panels lol). Our thermals went to shit of course. New fab doesn't care.
