@BladeoftheS It's extraordinary how right-wing parties are all about short-term greed, which inevitably leads to long-term decline, corruption & debt.

The Norwegian Government has $2tn, the UK Government -$3.2tn. We had far more oil and gas than them. Of course they kept theirs and have a fortune, Margaret Thatcher sold ours and we have crippling debt.

@floboflo He promised closer ties before Labour were elected, and they won a massive majority - so he has a democratic mandate for it. But you won't accept that because you only pretend to care about democracy when you win.

If Keir Starmer goes against the will of the British people and takes us back into Europe then I am done with this country and joining my parents in Spain! Disgusting!!!!

Keir Starmer is pushing for deeper EU ties again amid global instability - is this common sense or a Brexit betrayal? 🇬🇧🇪🇺

@dailybritainonx Very much so, yes. We need a wealth tax, higher corporation tax & reduced avoidance to pay for housing investment, improvements to education, reducing NHS waiting lists, sustainable energy, etc. Job creation follows, & therefore likely growth.

We have to accept that many people who have vast sums of wealth are both greedy and careful with money. They are probably a little exploitative and spend a lot of their time jet setting around, they can live elsewhere and still see their families more than some people who only live a few hours away. When you're rich everywhere is a first class flight away. Economics aren't moral or even just, but they have to work. If you discourage people who contribute the majority of our tax revenue to live here, whether you think they're nice people or not, they will leave. This makes the entire country poorer. Whether they're sociopaths doesn't alter what happens when taxes get too high.

And with more turbines & solar being installed, more efficient than ever before, even a light breeze on a cloudy day is generating significantly. With modern smart grids & interconnectors, we could even be exporting power soon on a regular basis. The future of energy is bright!

65% renewables. 35% dinosaurs. That’s roughly the grid mix. “But what happens at night when the wind isn’t blowing?” An line parrotted far too often, revealing ignorance. Simply, we use a mix of what’s needed; gas, nuclear, imports, sun, wind, storage. #renewables #energy

For all those parroting the last desperate argument against taxing the rich, here's my answer to the various false claims about millionaires leaving in droves & utterly rubbish trickle-down propaganda. Read and weep, rich-wannabe sycophants! share.google/wREXK9x7DBQsL1… #TaxTheRich

@BrightKnight15 @EleanorHarding You've never built a business, employed folk have you... Wealthy and entrepreneurs have left in droves. They pay the vast bulk of taxes More leave, because they can, then far more for the mid level to pay in taxes, when already battered Don't you understand basic eceonomics

@BrightKnight15 @EleanorHarding Because, Einstein, the high-earning, job-creating investors will leave in droves (they already are) and these teachers with their massive pay rises will become the rich ones. Turkeys voting for Xmas. And these people are educating our kids. Frightening naivety.

@BrightKnight15 @EleanorHarding "Obvious choice"! 😂 All I look forward to is the harsh realisation of people like you having to think "what on earth have we done?" if they ever got into power. When there's hyperinflation, food shortages, collapse of everything you know, I'll have zero sympathy for you.
