Rupert Lowe is really considering allowing Andy Burnham to become PM rather than just stepping down and letting Reform destroy Labour. He believes he can win because he won the locals in Great Yarmouth (due to local popularity) but he fails to mention all of the ‘independent’ candidates and local parties with ‘first’ in the name who were an unofficial branch of Restore; I have this on good authority. He doesn’t mention these because a lot of them didn’t win and of course that would destroy the narrative that he won every seat in the locals. He’s driven by ego. Not by a wanting to ‘restore’ the county.
Rupert Lowe MP@RupertLowe10

Ladbrokes have Restore Britain as third favourite in Makerfield ahead of the Greens, Tories and Lib Dems. Interesting.

@BrillPolitics @KTHopkins @reformparty_uk @ZiaYusufUK I wouldn't go crazy on you being centrist, I have no issue with that. But the one thing your polls are missing is that those numbers are after just a few months. Now imagine that after a few years. Most of reforms vote feel betrayed btmy Farage, but feel they have no ch9ice

Restore Britain is polling at around 2-5%. Reform at around 26-30% Tories at about 16-20% As a collective that puts them at around 44-55% of the vote. That makes the left/left of centre makeup of the country 45%-55% ish. The point is, I agree with you on most things, but don’t assume that everyone else does; because they don’t. And pretty much every majority government in recent history was won on that swinging centre. You can’t just lurch straight to the right, you have to bring the public with you and Rupert isn’t doing that. And before you start getting all crazy on me over being a centrist, I’m not. I’m a libertarian nationalist, who believes in little-to-no taxes and very little nationalised services. Also given any opportunity I would personally eradicate the benefits system. It’s not a competition about who’s further to the right, it’s who’s right enough and best placed to move the country in the right direction — if that is Restore Britain in 2029 then I’ll vote for them, but currently that’s Reform; so Reform is my choice for now.

@BrillPolitics @KTHopkins @reformparty_uk @ZiaYusufUK Except it isn't though, is it? Reform got as popular as they did when they stood on firmer right wing ground. They lost ground when they swung to the centre, and that is when restore exploded. Reform is as right of centre as the tories. And most Brits are not centrist

Reform is a right wing party, the Tories are right of centre. To say they aren’t is a lack of understanding of political alignment. Rupert is further to the right of reform - I’ll give you that. But the problem is this — that won’t win an election because it’s just a bit too polarising for the majority of moderate swing voters — swing voters win elections, not the base voters.

@EssexLad01 @LadyRebecca_1 Wasting your time trying to politely disagree with Lady Rebecca mate. They only want to fawn over Rupert and rage at anyone who doesn’t lol. If you’re not reciprocating they get bored and go to someone else.

I’ll always champion peaceful protest. But the Unite the Kingdom march organisers are peddling hatred and division. We’ve already blocked visas for far-right agitators who want to come here to spew their extremist views. They don't speak for the decent, fair, respectful Britain I know.

I have the deepest respect for Rupert Lowe, but the #RestoreBritain X people need to be more gradual and humble. The right isn’t theirs, as it also isn’t Reform or the Tories. We need to unite and vote against the left; otherwise that’s what they’ll do to us.

I hope this isn’t true. There are times when it’s more important to put country before party. This is one of them. Burnham’s longstanding commitment to a fairer voting system could transform our democracy & counter dire threat of a Reform UK government theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

Andy Burnham is heading for Downing Street! This could be the end of Nigel Farage and the beginning of the future millennials and Gen-Z deserve! A future without FPTP!! A future with real democracy. A future where all votes count equally!!! youtu.be/gPlx9km9qww

@DwezZr @PReddy69043 @JWinslow4Harlow Yeah, I think it’s also just the lack of humility. Like I’d love restore policies but at the same time I know it’s not realistic and not going to win a majority so I’d opt for progress over losing it all to the left.

You know it’s weird the more they go on the more they seem like a cult with their matching profile picture then they’ve all got twitter bios absolutely sucking off Rupert. Reminds me a lot of the extreme MAGA side of the US. I know that most of them aren’t but they seem like bots

@DwezZr @PReddy69043 @JWinslow4Harlow And this is exactly what makes us level-headed, we’ll put our vote where it counts for the good of the country. Not blindly giving only 1 political party support regardless of their chances of winning.

So now you can attempt to not pay up to £40,000 in tax and if HMRC finds out you don’t get a fine. Nice one.

@LeeHurstComic I was just 2 weeks late paying some VAT and got fined almost £2,000 PLUS interest. An innocent oversight and never been late before, yet HMRC show no mercy whatsoever on small business owners like me (no doubt viewed as the great unwashed). Fair society? Like fuck it is.
