@ArkticCub @daninbathrooms You don’t need an ID to vote in Australia. By making people show an ID it limits access to voting to people who can afford an ID. Plus it is harder for people from poorer backgrounds to get the documents they need to get an ID

@daninbathrooms I'm sorry, but how does a "first world country" like the USA not have a national identity card that can be used?
Australians just show up with our drivers licence or photo card and be on our way.

Literally almost no one disagrees with him! The issue is that Republicans a disingenuous when they say this stuff because they want to make it super difficult to get the right kind of ID, put up barriers, and disenfranchise people in the process.
