This something I have genuinely never understood. Promoters sign boxers to exclusive deals and often act on behalf of fighters in negotiations. Yet managers take % of fighters' earnings etc. But promoters don't want fighters on other platforms.

Something that has gone completely out of British boxing is two world class prospects fighting each other. Besides James Degale vs George Groves, all them years ago. We just don’t see it. The business side of the sport stops it from happening. Yet this is where I feel boxing can truly grow. It’s easier said than done, but we need to stop having so much reliance on an undefeated record. Only the promoters can change this. It’s ok stating this, but are you still going to pay the fighters the same with as loss on their record early on? I truly believe if a promoter sets the benchmark and applied this, boxing would truly thrive. Degale and Groves packed out the O2 Arena in London, in their tenth and 12th fight. They both went on to win world titles. Viddal Riley vs Pat Brown is an incredible fight to make in the next 12 months. World title on the line or not, it would capture the British publics imagination, if promoted right. #fightclub247 #boxing #fighter #champion
