There are more than 86,000 local sports clubs in Germany. As vital community organisations they play an important role in bringing together people from all walks of life. On today’s annual #Trikottag, we join in as Germany pays tribute to them. 👕✨

A Joint Declaration of Intent between Hamburg 🇩🇪 and Liverpool 🇬🇧 for closer cooperation in areas such as research, logistics and tourism has been signed by Mayors Peter Tschentscher and Steve Rotheram. Liverpool was partner at the Hamburg Port Anniversary, held at the weekend.

A great way to enjoy Spargelzeit! The German Circle at the National Liberal Club is inviting BGA members to join them for their annual white asparagus supper - next Friday 15th May from 7pm. It will start off with a short piano recital and a glass of German sparkling wine. (1/2)

A special exhibition featuring a rare set of Beatles photographs and letters written by the band’s five original members whilst in Hamburg, is set to go on display in the German city this week. It comes as a Liverpool City Region business and culture delegation heads to Hamburg to strengthen economic ties. The exhibition has been created to celebrate Liverpool City Region’s role as the official partner of Hamburg’s annual port festival – Hafengebustag - and showcases letters revealing the thoughts of John, Paul and George at this hugely influential stage in their career, along with Stuart and original drummer Pete Best. 👉 ow.ly/ww2A50YVu7e

Due to the similar leaf shape and blooming times, it can sometimes be confused with Bärlauch. To make sure the right plant is foraged, the leaf is rubbed to make sure of that garlicky smell. It’s a crucial step to make sure your pesto or sauce won’t have a nasty surprise! (2/2)
