🚨Huge Britpop anniversary alert!🚨 30 years ago today Manic Street Preachers released the album “Everything Must Go”. Their first album without Richey Edwards and the one that pushed them firmly into the wider public eye. What’s your favourite track?

🚨Big Britpop anniversary alert!🚨 Happy 30th birthday to “Fuzzy Logic” by Super Furry Animals. This is one of the most exciting debut albums ever in my opinion. Here’s the original press advert and album reviews from the NME and MM.

Happy 30th birthday to “The Beautiful Game” the official album of Euro ‘96. Plenty of Britpop acts on this. What’s the best track?

Is it Britpop? Sort of. But it goes beyond that. Either way it’s 30 years old today. One of the most famous football songs ever; “Three Lions”.

Here’s a Select magazine article that introduces us to some of the less well known band members of the 90’s. Including Pulp, Menswear, Gene and Paul Weller’s group.

@WitzSado @jonnyrmitch No, I like their album, but it’s not enough to put them in at the expense of any of my other choices. The Real People would be the most likely to drop out, but even then their work with the early Oasis sound is vitally important to Britpop.

More Beatles Bores ignorance, incuriosity and shallowness. We get the tired ‘Liverpool being a port city explains their rich musical scene’, ignoring how Liverpool created zero 60s bands/songwriters of any worth except (!) for The Beatles whereas, er, Birmingham produced LOADS.

@KickWokeOut @Britpopmemories @PeterWalker59 You said we are talking about scenes. I’m saying that Zeppelin aren’t from the Birmingham scene. Two of their members once were, but the band Led Zeppelin was never part of that scene.

@batcountry1980 @Britpopmemories @PeterWalker59 Yes and no, plant and bonham being from the black country is such a big part of the band and who they are. Lyrics sound style. It’s not a Birmingham band but it is a band that has strong links and heritage to the Birmingham music scene , it wouldn’t exist without it
