One of my worst fears as a bird mom happened last night. Just going to preface this by saying the birdies are fine & are in good health this morning. Cockatiels are prone to night frights. We had one incident the first night we got them & thought we had alleviated the possibility of more occurrences. I checked our birdie cam last night before I went to bed & all birdies seemed to be soundly sleeping but I woke up to a nightmare. Both Mallow & Kupo injured themselves during a night fright. The bleeding has stopped & they have been engaging in their normal behaviors- eating, drinking, chirping, playing, & climbing all over their cage. Its as if nothing happened last night but I'll be closely monitoring them. I am absolutely heart broken I couldnt be there to calm them & prevent such a thing.

I never posted about this but for some reason I feel like I should. Several months ago I decided to completely remove myself from the p*okemon un*te community. I went on a big unfollowing spree and honestly it wasnt anything personal. I really wanted to move on from that game. I muted so many words but even so I still saw so much complaining about the game to the point where...it just became a wee bit annoying. So I ended up muting accounts that often posted about the game. I figured...what's the point of following all these accounts if I have them muted and never see their posts anyway? I also felt like most people simply moved on from me and my community once I dropped the game. So yeah. If you realize that I unfollowed you, I promise its not out of hate or anything. I never thought a video game and a gaming community could affect my mental health as much as it had and I was just doing what I felt like was best for me so I could move on.

The closer I got to the age of 30, the more this behavior became a pet peeve of mine. I wish it happened sooner, because admittedly I used to entertain it. But I am so glad I distanced from people who enabled that behavior and now I will not hesitate to cut people off for this.

Im a victim of gun violence, and I got exposed to that video. I feel sick to my stomach and im shaking. Staying off social media for the next several days but I will still be streaming. Just please dont bring this topic into my online spaces. I dont want to cancel streams. It's my escape.
