You walk into a pagan temple, the image they worship is front and center. This is what all of the early church polemic against images is about. It is not about Christian icons. Obvious to anyone who has actually been to a pagan temple IRL.

@LukasNectarios @Craig_Truglia Well the Buddha actually asked to not have pictures or statues of him. So the ancient sites either had a wheel or eyes. But eventually they started making statues etc. The Buddha is not worshipped as a god, but respected as an enlightened holy man.
