If Linux Kernel 6.6.6 isn't named "Kernel of the Beast" I'm quitting Linux and switching to FreeBSD

Cashies sold me a fucking BIOS locked laptop, I don't even know why they had this thing. It's old, there's a tool to crack the BIOS password on this thing, but they're stupid

As soon this happened to me in the OG Sky any time I saw a fat boy I would try to kill it with Arts or something else that gave me range. These pissed me off as much as Dark Souls mimic chests, now I attack every chest in every game.

ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS???

@BrodieOnLinux If it's an actually BIOS thing, and not a UEFI fuckaroo, then remove the CMOS battery and wait a few minutes. Put in a new battery, and it should be good to go.

@CodingThunder @aovees This is a laptop from 2010 but being an Elitebook apparently you can't CMOS reset the BIOS, this was something they did with there business line. However there is a tool that you can use to break in to the BIOS

@aovees @BrodieOnLinux Most laptops nowadays don't have a CMOS battery. They are powered exclusively by the battery, and even if you disconnect the battery and do the equivalent of a CMOS reset following manufacturers instructions, the BIOS password lock won't be removed because its stored in EEPROM

I love Cashies, most of the store is random junk, tools and cameras, then you sometimes come across something hilarious like a laptop with a very a early gen Intel chip, a firewire port, e-sata, an rj-11 port and a full cd drive

Last time we got: Couldn't deliver the package because no one was home when it was supposed to be drop with no signature. This time we got: I received the package, it's in front of me, but then I got an email afterwards saying that they tried to deliver it and no one was home

@zhaobiin @geraltenrique It's 3rd party to Debian, it's not related to the Debian project. The person who said it is not happening is the maintainer of the GNU Core Utils on Debian, not Sylvestre.

@BrodieOnLinux @geraltenrique The "3rd website" is uutil's official site. The change that introduce "misunderstanding" is committed by sylvestre, uutils' BFDL and also the uutil's maintainer on debian, who "explicity stated that this is not happening".

Devuan is an interesting distro, the stated purpose is to not ship Systemd, but there's a growing group who want it to be this anti everything mainstream distro, anti wayland, anti systemd, anti rust, and I'm curious to see how that plays out long term for the project.
