@BrodieOnLinux @valvesoftware Shouldn't the charger provide some kind of electrical "authentication" that it's connected to the controller before sending current?
I thought most chargers like this would either protect the pins or use an added pin for safety.

Someone touched there metallic watch strap against the Steam Controller charger contacts causing it to short out and start "sizzling", probably not a fundamental design flaw but something @valvesoftware should look into reddit.com/r/SteamControl…

@valvesoftware This kind of exposed metal contacts are quite common on smartwatches and none of mine have this issue so I'm sure there's something Valve can do to address the problem.
