Say what you want, but Barça fans have every right to complain about these two legs because every 50/50 call went Atleti’s way. And by the way, no Barça fan is arguing against the fact that the players made mistakes. Multiple narratives can exist: Barça made mistakes, but the referees in both legs ultimately ended up deciding the tie, and that’s the most frustrating part. I also don’t understand why, whenever something involves Barça, VAR isn’t checked, but the moment something happens to an Atleti player, VAR decides to intervene. I’m not trying to start controversy, but even last season when Barça played Inter, there was a clear foul on Gerard Martín and the goal still stood. Anytime a situation happens for another team it’s a penalty, foul, etc. Whenever the same situation happens for Barça the decision is always against the club. My issue is the inconsistency.
