This is also the one funny thing I always urge to include in my followers' worldview - if you think of the world in realism lego building, you are bound to get surprised by people eager to prove you wrong on the ground. With the Chinese painfully realising this in Africa and Asia in recent two years.

Syria was never a "refugee crisis". It was a "brutal dictator slaughtering his people crisis". Once the root cause of the problem is removed, one of its manifestations (huge refugee flows) disappears too

@marceldirsus In my view the largest damage would probably be caused by a regime collapse and slide into civil war, which i find quite ironic.

@shashj It mainly showed a significant shortcoming in clearity on the strategic goals a german government has as well as a total ignorance on the possible goals of russia in such a scenario as well as on actually relevant (re-)actions.

@shashj I had the chance to talk to the hosts of the game. The lessons of this game should really not be military ones, as e.g. the lithaunians were a not played. There were valuable lessons learned on the mindset and which decisions and strategic shortcomings of german (former) leaders.
