The topic for this morning's meditation class is Insights Into Resilience. We have stone artefacts of meditating figures that are 5,000 years old. Meditation has evolved with humanity in a feedback process where it has become a toolkit for life. As humanity has evolved, meditation has evolved to support us. Meditation is the most widely practised mental training in the world, and it has by far the longest lineage and the richest traditions.

✨🧠 Finding Clarity of Mind: Learning to Unravel the Mind Loops The topic of this Saturday's class will be finding clarity of mind by untangling the mind loops. We all know what mind loops are. Sometimes this is called rumination. It's where we go over and over the same thing time and time again without gaining any extra benefit. It isn't necessarily that the thoughts are unhelpful; it's the repetitive process that's unhelpful. Even if they're useful thoughts, we very likely don't need them on rewind or replay. We want to be able to choose how to focus our minds. There's a world of difference between acting out a behaviour and performing it with intention. Intention isn't the same as intensity. Intention is doing something with focus and purpose. It's not concentration. It's an awareness of the experience, an immersion in it. Our world can very easily become an endless procession of activities that we act out without intention, and meditating, as an action that needs to be performed, is the difference between gaining benefits and wasting your time on an activity that's not going to bring you any benefits, and that you will give up at some point, only to complain to yourself that it's just not for you. The intention in meditation isn't the intention to gain the benefit. The intention is to experience the practice fully, to open your awareness to it and allow yourself to feel it. Intention is the first step on the path to building a practice that will bring you what you need. #Mindfulness #Meditation #Intention

Finding the Dial to the Volume Control of Your Mind It's all about letting go. It's about letting go of the spider's web of goals, expectations, wants, needs, distractions, escapism, comfort, and pleasure that the modern world is built on. We don't have to walk away from anything or anyone or any experiences. But we do need to learn what is keeping the hamster wheel of the mind turning and why. Once the processes of the mind become clear, the internal (and external) narratives gradually lose their power, and the mind's water glass moves from agitated and cloudy to still and clear.
