I saw two siblings fighting in my street this morning. A lady and her elder brother. She was angry because he wore her ₦17,000 jacket to his night shift work without telling her. Apparently, she had been looking for it since last night because she wanted to wear it out, so she waited for him to come back in the morning. The moment he entered the compound, she started insulting him. He pleaded that he sent her a voice note, but she didn’t check her WhatsApp. She asked him to refund the money she bought it for, a jacket she had worn twice. He transferred the ₦17k to her, collected his power bank and told her never to touch any of his things again. She stood outside still insulting him loudly. At some point, the guy picked up a stone like he wanted to stone her, then dropped it and walked away. Siblings from the same mom and dad. I saw her as a girl who lacks manners, character and respect for her brother. Growing up with my brothers, I can’t imagine insulting my elder brother publicly like that, not even my younger brothers. Normal sibling disagreements happen, but some people don’t know how to speak to each other with respect. As a lady, no matter what happens, the way you learn to speak to your brothers at home says a lot. Men, including your brothers, want peace and respect. When you give them that, they’ll listen, care for you, protect you and respect you too.

So this guy was relocating and decided to help his struggling friend by allowing him to stay in his apartment since the rent still had about 5 months left. The agreement was simple: ‘Manage the place till the rent expires and move out.’ Fast forward to when the rent finally expired, the caretaker and the landlord’s lawyer came to inspect the apartment before collecting the keys. That was when wahala started 😭 The house was practically empty. No ACs. No gas cooker. No oven. No water heater. Even the wardrobes were gone 💀 The guy was confused because he genuinely thought those things belonged to his friend. So he quickly called the friend and said: ‘Bro, the caretaker and lawyer are asking about the things in the house o.’ And the friend casually replied: ‘Ahh no na 😭 those things came with the apartment. He actually thought his friend left them for him. Omo. His jaw literally dropped. This guy had sold EVERYTHING 😭 3 ACs. Gas cooker. Oven. Water heater. 2 giant wardrobes. Everything. The painful part? All the things he sold for ₦1.3m are now being valued by the lawyer at almost ₦6m. Now the landlord is refusing to let him leave the house. His options now are: • Replace everything immediately OR • Renew the apartment for another year at ₦4.5m and provide all the missing items before the next tenant moves in. Police are already involved. He has signed an undertaking not to disappear. Omo my guy entered debt just like that 😭
