@BroomeBirdObs

We love shorebirds. We've been facilitating research since 1988. We're self-funded and affiliated with @BirdLifeOz. Open for camping, tours and accommodation.

A reminder you can see wonderful migratory #shorebirds here at the BBO ALL YEAR (because younger ones don't migrate north to breed). We've had some brilliant views of Asian Dowitcher on recent Shorebird tours.

In 1879 Alexander Forrest saw these great Kimberley ranges and, in awe, named them after Belgian King Leopold. Today we officially renamed them the Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges - the names they have held well before that King was born.

A young White-bellied Sea-Eagle sees off a Whistling Kite from its sea-snake meal. Filmed on the mudflats just in front of the BBO.

@BroomeShire Mosquitoes really bad out here, a lot worse than in town prob because we are close to flooding areas of Crab Ck saltmarsh. Don't know what our options are, but I thought worth contacting as we have campers out here who it is affecting. We have a decent supply of Rid.

What a superb effort by the team @GlobalFlyway, continuing to collect invaluable long-term data on migratory #shorebirds despite all the challenges you'd expect doing this in 2020, and more! Read Kath's brilliant report here 👇

We've loved seeing and been inspired by the posts from #BlackBirdersWeek, and it's fantastic to see positive impacts like this. Great work @BlackAFinSTEM

Tours are back at the BBO and we can't wait to show you some of the amazing environments around Roebuck Bay. We run half-day shorebird, mangrove and plains tours, and a full-day tour of the Roebuck Plains lakes - which looks a bit like this youtu.be/LgwXp0PxNb8
