SETI@Home was released to the public #Today in 1999; most part of the observational data it processed was from the Arecibo observatory and it was one of the most inspiring projects for young people of all ages [read more: buff.ly/2HjKaQs] t.co/1etjORuTkR

@christianhern It's not just technologies, it's policies. A cohesive mass-transport infrastructure plan from pedestrianisation, through cycling, all the way up through bus and train (see Denmark). Fix the smart energy guarantee for solar, return pricing to the grid is woeful. And storage!

Other than heat pumps, what sustainable technologies would you want to see scale at speed?

Some people have asked me why I seem to be complaining as much about Labour as the Tories these days, so I thought I should explain. A thread…..

Clearing my mothers house and looking for a UK 8bit enthusiast who would like to take custody of my Atari400. A big part of my career as an ASIC designer is down to this box, very nostalgic. @concreted0g @g4dbn @G4GUO ideas? #8bit #atari

@PercyBlakeney63 The poll pushes people to answer based on current games and habits vs completely new experiences. We're still stuck on streaming just being a remote console not an entirely new platform.

@CloudGamer33 @jasonschreier Most inactive gamers are not buying games or paying for a subscription. Every player, while playing, requires a gaming server, they do not have millions of gaming servers.

@jasonschreier See OnLive passing. Stadia's capacity was tiny compared to consoles in market. The cost of building out and operating a platform that can only serve a few hundred thousand people at the same time was never going to make mainstream. Google spent way more to learn the same lessons.

@gaborgurbacs I have been saying this for more than a decade. 10 years in the US, needed to carry rantidene everywhere, prescribed extended courses of omeprazole. Return to UK, symptoms gone within weeks. A week in the US is enough to start flareups again.

I was in Europe. Lost 10 pounds in under 2 weeks. Came back to the US. Inflamed and stomach is in pain. What the hell is in our food?

Idea for a game. Open world seagull simulator. Fly around nicking chips and generally being a bit of a prick. I’d play that.

@imrejele These are big acquisitions of big companies, requiring huge resources to create Hollywood level content. Growth in indies and other areas has never been better, no? Consolidation of large scale feels normal (started in aviation industry, look at family tree of Airbus and similar)

Considering the recent arms-race-like escalation of games studio acquisitions I cannot help but wonder: Is having fewer but bigger gaming companies out there good or harmful for the players and gaming in general on the long run? Asking for a friend.
