@BrophyPat @kennyflorian @UnhiddenLamp @BenStoeger187 Fun fact. You can retrofit an insulin pump to deliver doses of anything. Carbonic acid in the blood harmlessly induces a direct fight or flight response so deep it works on people who have medical hypophobia. It makes you feel like you're actively dying, it's great.

@PepeLp72 @BenStoeger187 I shoot a lot more than that on a range trip, but I kinda agree with Shrek. My first 50 rounds in a practice session are always my best. Fatigue sets in and then the little bad habits.

@BenStoeger187 Yeah, he also said you should never practice shooting a pistol past 10 yards, and shooting more than 20 rounds during a trip to the range is a waste of time. People just can't concentrate long enough to shoot more than 20 rounds.

@kennyflorian @UnhiddenLamp @BenStoeger187 Gotta have a good, repeatable base to be a great pistol shot. Regarding shooting comp vs for REAL, no match pressure can EVER equal the adrenaline dump of shooting for your life. That’s the difference shooting paper.

In a gunfight, you can win with sloppy-ass shooting when the opposition is poorly trained, outnumbered or doesn’t even know you’re there. Competition isolates the shooting itself and holds you to a higher technical standard. That’s why the best military units train with competitive shooters. Killing someone doesn’t automatically mean you’re technically good with a gun. Please explain to me how the technique/mechanics of shooting paper is different than shooting a person?

@AtypicalBass @UnhiddenLamp @BenStoeger187 There’s more than one way to grip/shoot a pistol. As long as you get the hits, I could care less if you do a handstand while pulling the trigger. Have an open mind, try different methods. Whatever works best for YOU is what matters.

@UnhiddenLamp @BenStoeger187 i never claimed to be cool. vets deserve to be made fun of if they claim to be "instructors" when they themselves actually can't shoot well and don't know what they're doing when shooting a handgun

@GatorRaidActual @GunSmithShep @MikeVaquero357 @gunguytv Optics are excellent on carbines. I have them on mine. For DEFENSIVE use of a handgun (NOT offensive), the need for a dot is just not there imo. Distances are short, and speed is paramount. For a pistol to be used at distance, a dot works great.

@GunSmithShep @MikeVaquero357 @gunguytv Competition shooting is a lot different than combat where you are being shot at. Kinda like driving an F1 car is different from being a driver of a commuter car. Different tools for different purposes.

@Guntalk .45ACP was dumb as a fighting cartridge when it was invented. It’s REALLY dumb now. Fun though, I enjoy shooting it from time to time.

Do you agree? Clerk in good gun store today says 1911 sales are dead unless it's double stack. Also, "No one wants a 45." Folks want a "Bucket O Bullets" pistol.

@SkinnyFatJAMO @Guntalk Bull 💩 there’s no difference. People forget all the fancy new tech hollowpoints are available im .45 also. There’s no comparison with fmj. .45 hardball is better than 9 can ever be (and I daily a 9mm so im not biased against it).

@Guntalk That’s a cool setup but 9mm can carry 30 in a smaller setup. Minimal ballistic differences

Whoa, wait a minute. We’ve all heard that the USA is energy independent and we have more oil than most of the world, if this is fact, how does what transpires in Iran effect the oil price of a well in Texas or Oklahoma that was pulled out of the ground weeks ago? If you watch your local gas station, within hours of a conflict in the Middle East, gas prices go up, how does that work? Friends, oil companies in the USA are playing us for fools. It is impossible for a situation in the Middle East to affect the price of gas at the pump. That gas was refined weeks or months ago, under an entirely different price structure. If we are energy independent and since we get the majority of our oil from USA wells, why isnt that reflected in pump prices? We are getting shafted! newsweek.com/us-energy-inde…

🇺🇸🇮🇷 IEA Chief: Oil is much cheaper than it should be right now; things are going to get much worse "Prices do not reflect the severity of the problem stemming from the war in the Middle East." Unsurprisingly, Trump's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz isn't exactly helping to calm the markets. Source: Bloomberg

🇺🇸🇮🇷 The U.S. is already quietly planning a second round with Iran before April 21, Geneva or Islamabad, dates still being figured out. Vance declared the talks failed and flew home. Trump announced a blockade right after. Now they're booking the next meeting. The door that was slammed is being quietly reopened. That's how this kind of diplomacy actually works. Source: CNN
