I spent the past month working on a browser engine from scratch in C++ following @BrowserBook. Browsers have always been a black box to me and I've really enjoyed understanding the components that make up these complex operating systems. I'm around 40% done and plan to continue!

We've been reading the final proof of Web Browser Engineering. I'm amazed: it is 512 pages long, way longer than it felt while writing it. Publication is getting closer by the day!
