@charliemidnite @jimsoxfan The problem with Henry is winning ironically. 4 titles with 3 different managers and 3 different baseball executives gives you a sense of invincibility that these types of internal shakeups are normal and he can get away with it without getting burned.

@NYPost_Brazille The roster is trash, yea. But this is not just about this season. Mendoza has never been good. He got lucky in 2024. He’s a terrible manager. Makes awful in game decisions and can’t manage a bullpen to save his life. Something has to give and it starts with him

I just don’t see the benefit of firing Mendoza if I’m the #mets. Look at the current roster. Hard to fault him. A new manager is going to make these guys perform better? I don’t see it. 340 million or so was just not spent wisely.

@DrJesseMorse @stoolpresidente Look at their schedule for the next few weeks, it will hopefully humble ownership to see how bad Breslow truly is as a baseball executive. Harrison 12K today for Milwaukee, the Durbin trade is horrific so far

If you want to be a silent owner John Henry, then you DON’T DESERVE to be the owner of one of the GREATEST franchise in the world, the Boston Red Sox. Either make it a priority or SELL THE TEAM and move on. Us fans deserve better. Cc @stoolpresidente

@JakeBrownLive I mean what are they waiting for? Mets have a worse record than the Red Sox, who just fired their whole staff lol

Heard last night that Carlos Mendoza is on the clock. He has not been able to stitch the new group together. They’re very fragmented and in silos. If Mets don’t get this turned around soon, he will be gone.

@CatherinVaritek Neither Varitek or Cora should have been fired, and the fanbase knows that .... Breslow put a joke of a lineup for the coaching staff to work with

@BNightengale How stupid can John Henry be ? Fire a top 5 manager in MLB over a fool ( BRESLOW ) who put together an incomplete lineup

One thing is clear from this press conference: Craig Breslow has seized power within the organization. This is his show now, and as a result, the bullseye is squarely on his back.

Alex Cora fired. Not surprising. He and Craig Breslow were not on the same page.

Red Sox owner John Henry: ‘Alex Cora led this organization to one of the greatest seasons in Red Sox history in 2018, and for that, and the many years that followed, he will always have our deepest gratitude. He has had a lasting impact on this team and on this city. He has led on and off the field in so many important ways. These decisions are never easy, but this one is especially difficult given what Alex has meant to the Red Sox since the day he arrived. I want to thank Alex, our coaches, and their families for everything they have given to this organization. They have been part of this club in a way that goes beyond the field, and they will always have our respect and gratitude.”
