A wander up north yesterday to tackle a mountain I first set eyes on 14 years ago which captured my imagination. The Corbett An Ruadh-stac. I then returned to Maol Chean-dreag, literally 14years to the day I looked out across to the Torridon mountains. Where did those years go?

@BruceRussell16 About 10 hrs total from the burial ground car park over the causeway from Allt a' Chruinn, but that included quite a few stops for photos and chilling. About 7hrs actual moving time according to Strava, but I reckon it was more 👍 strava.com/activities/143…

Enjoyed a magic overnight trip up to Kintail on Tues/Wed 🏔️⛺️ Started off quite cloudy, which was just as well tbh as carrying the bivvy gear over the 5 Sisters was hard work! 🥵 The cloud cover and slight cooling breeze were most welcome 👌

@fleurrbie Sorry to hear that. I was almost a full time carer for my folks for the second half of 23. The odd day in the hills did me a huge power of good. Don’t feel guilty about going out.

@BruceRussell16 Mum suffered a large stroke on Sunday morning….. shes still with us but this is going to be a marathon not a sprint. Time in the mountains is an absolute blessing. I don’t seem to be able to function without it 😢

@fleurrbie I know exactly what you mean, recharge time. Second time I climbed those I used the chairlift. Figured I’d already walked up & down so why not. I was also still breaking in a new hip 🤫

I’ve driven past these 2 Munros countless times turning a blind eye as they receive such a poor crit! Bogfest, boring, pathless, huge drop to the Bealach.. blah, blah… But I actually really liked them! First 2 this year. Sgiath Chuil Meal Glas 🏔️♥️🏔️☺️👍🏻
