@thisandtatt @WoodinRivers It's not that simple. The thing is the impact of a McDonalds isn't limited to the walls of the unit itself. This one is a proposed drive thru in a terrible location for a drive thru. McDonalds also brings a tonne of litter and ASB. Who wants that?

@WoodinRivers Ridiculous. There's a time and place for everything. Many folks in Moseley were against Greggs, but rather that than yet another empty shop. Nothing wrong with McDonalds. If you don't like it, don't go there. Simple.

Where would you rather live? Which of these says ‘civic confidence’? Which of these looks prosperous? Which of these looks welcoming? Which of these gives a good impression? It’s not the third one is it.

Another crash on one of Birmingham's busiest high streets. One car smashed into two that were parked. Pedestrian crossing destroyed; three recovery trucks needed. What's the cost to the "bankrupt" city in ££s & perception of public safety?

Quite a lot of staff at work in All Saints Centre today, parking their cars in what was formerly a pleasant, quiet pedestrian square in Kings Heath.

Please sign and share this petition, calling for the long over-due Moseley and Kings Heath LTN to be delivered faster than the current programme, which is set to deliver the earliest improvements in July 2025 with other elements as late as June 2026. chng.it/krxKg9ymc5

This is why it’s wrong to freeze fuel duty while hiking bus fares by 50%.

Budget provides additional £100 mn for cycling and walking infrastructure in 2025-26. This is NOT the "unprecedented level of funding" that transport secretary @LouHaigh told @laura_laker was coming. Meanwhile, motorists get yet another fuel duty freeze. Climate change anyone?

@senoJ_asiL @mrmjprice How do you propose cutting down on cars is done instead? In cities where it's restricted by number plate the rich buy more cars. Many households here have multiple cars already, some front gardens look like car parks.

It's an interesting policy proposal on banning cycling in town, if we assume the council will apply same logic to similar areas: * Some dangerous cyclists, already breaking the law = banning cycling So then... * Some dangerous drivers, already breaking the law = ??? 👀

@mrmjprice I’m not complaining about the roads, I’m complaining about the compartmentalising of my home city into “quarters” by people who think that their opinion is morally correct and people who don’t like it will just have to “get used to it “

In less than 20 years, car culture has destroyed the traditional British suburb, with enormous environmental, social, and political consequences.

@PabloAllelli @LizClements Interesting, how so? There are bridges over the canals and they're far less anti human than 6+ lanes of traffic with the only crossing point being a narrow bridge accessed by piss soaked stairs that looks like somewhere you could be mugged

When I first moved to Birmingham 25 years ago I was astonished to see what is effectively an urban motorway cutting the city centre in half. Great to see this consultation on the A38 getting underway: we need to reduce dramatically the volume of traffic. birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-…
