Didn’t match into Ortho again, but some callings don’t care about timelines. There’s an instinct in me that knows deeply, stubbornly that orthopaedic surgery is where I belong. Not a maybe. The only destination. I just need someone to see my potential and give me the opportunity.

This past Feb my home Orthopaedic residency program lost its accreditation. And this past March I matched into a general surgery preliminary position, after applying into Orthopaedics & going unmatched. I am an undrafted free agent with All Star potential, I just need a chance.

Great great place to learn the practice of orthopedic surgery! High volume hands on trauma! Trauma is the foundation of what we all do! You learn anatomy, think critically, every case is a bit different! Would not be the sports medicine surgeon I am today without it!

Last ortho sub-I rotation at USC+LA County hospital - had a blast, worked hard!, a ton of experience at county, covered USC men’s basketball, gave a presentation on Lisfranc injuries, got to work with & scrub in with my friend & Howard Med alum/PGY 5 Will Hill !! An amazing month

Went to the beach and saw the sunset (I love taking photos so this was a can’t miss opportunity) — Also I got to play a little bit of pick up basketball on my off day with the residents, threw down this little number between games 🙂
