I am incredibly honored to be among the inaugural group selected for the Carlo J. DeLuca Award from @ISEKCongress for my work with dynamic high-density EMG. Special thanks to @Ferris_vball , the twitterless Andrew Nordin, and @UFBME for their support throughout this research!

@NeuroRyanDowney @NIH_LRP Congrats, that’s awesome news! I’m working on an application for this year, so I’ll probably bug you soon for some expert guidance!

I'm so excited to share the news that I was just awarded a 1 year @NIH_LRP renewal!!! Over the past two years the LRP cut my student debt in half. Now, in 1 year's time it will be cut in half again! I am so grateful for this program and encourage everyone who is eligible to apply

@woutersinas @Ferris_vball I'll echo Dan's thoughts that the soleus might be playing a larger role. Perhaps the soleus (greater proportion of slow-twitch fibers) wasn't as fatigued as the gastroc? Or we needed to record longer trials post-fatigue to see changes? Lots of ideas for future studies 😀

My fourth, and final, publication from my PhD research on high-density EMG during locomotion is now available and open-access doi.org/10.1152/jn.006…. Localized muscle fatigue in the medial gastrocnemius induces altered spatial myoelectric patterns during walking and running.

I've been lucky enough to see this research in person the past couple of years and can't wait to see (and start using!) the final product. Awesome work @NeuroRyanDowney!!

Hey @AcademicEEG, I wanted to give you a sneak peek of my new cleaning algorithm, iCanClean (paper in prep). This highly artifacted mobile EEG data was simply HP filtered and then sent to my algorithm (no channel rejection, no re-ref). Oh yeah, and it's running here in real-time.

@OliveiraBiomech @JSportsSci Awesome study! I once had someone tell me I step loudly while running. I now try to run more "softly", not because I want to reduce injury, but because I don't want to annoy the person next to me. Glad to know it helps keeps me healthy too! 😄

Do you "listen" to your feet while running? Reducing footfall sound loudness reduces vertical impact loading, and it is possible to do fatigued. Running re-training Including short bouts of "silent" running may help reducing impact loading. @JSportsSci tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.108…

Today is my first official day as a Postdoctoral Fellow at @EmoryUniversity. That means, for the first time in 9+ years, I’m no longer a member of the @Ferris_vball lab. Please enjoy my earliest lab pic (left, 2011) and a recent recreation (right, 2020). 1/2

I can’t thank this lab enough for everything over the years. In my time there, I was fortunate enough to author/co-author 10 papers, present at 5 international conferences, and finally learn how to grow a proper beard 🙃. I'm forever grateful for all of it. 2/2
