I received these three texts tonight. I did not order pizza, this is not my area code… but secretly I hoped for pizza to arrive. None did. @DominosCanada and Dilawar, I’m hurt and disappointed.

Concluding my Egypt and Jordan tour meeting one of the Program Managers of a client/partner and from my data science fellowship, in real life, not Zoom, lol! I also discovered so much behind the history of these two countries and how influential it is to how we move today. 10/10

@chrissanders88 You don't need to apologize. Nothing is broken. You're a human who has been through a life changing event. You will heal when you're ready. Don't punish yourself. Things change, including you. Many others, including myself, have traveled this journey ahead of you.

I haven't spoken publicly since my wife died last year, and I had hoped to return to that this weekend by giving the opening keynote at BSides Greenville. Unfortunately, I'm still not there yet and have had to withdraw from the conference. I tried incredibly hard, but I have so much anxiety now around preparing presentations and speaking in front of a live audience. I used to speak 5-6 times a year in person on topics that I think are important to infosec. I'm unsure if I'll ever be able to do it again, and that's a bit frightening. Thankfully, my online teaching and writing aren't affected by whatever is broken with me here... so I'm continuing to focus on that, along with my research work. That's a lot of vulnerability, but that's where I'm at. I want to apologize to the folks who were looking forward to my presentation. I also want to thank the conference organizers for their understanding and incredible support. I know it'll be a great conference, regardless. I'll keep working on getting this part of myself back.

Fancy finding out how a jobbie on a mantelpiece has aged in 28 years? My debut Quite Ugly One Moring has been reissued with a snazzy new jacket, and is only 99p on Kindle for the whole of August. amazon.co.uk/Quite-Ugly-Mor…

@jimgordon1893 @BrianHonan OK. I'll accept that my reply was poorly worded but at the end of the day you do have accept the decisions given by the officials on the day. We can't go back and change things now. I still feel that Ireland deserved the win. Not what I wanted but it's what we got.
