Are the small to medium sized farms strengthening and are they the ones to look towards and not try to emulate those very large farms? Just a little tractor rant for you on this Saturday morning have a great weekend my friends

@KenSchaus This is a hot ticket item out this way and I feel in Alberta we are doing it right but if these cattle came from here we need to do better.

There are three groups that will benefit from the increased CFIA regulations. Maybe there is a 4th?

If you want your mind blown, check out “Red Tractor” in the UK. “Quality assurance” programs to allow market access are the result of increased regulation. We do not have to guess what the result will be from the CFIA overreach.

The Agriculture Service Boards of Alberta passed the resolution. What can we all do now? We all have influences on different boards and societies. These resolutions need to be adopted to show a united front. Ag society’s, feeder associations, rodeo associations, community pastures. Wherever you are, this can be brought forward.

The Canadian Cattle Association are the ones spreading misinformation. They are misleading the industry through omission.

The changes by the CFIA to cattle traceability overweight the risk of a border closure and give no thought into the down stream effects to rural communities. This resolution we are bringing forward will attempt to force the CFIA to consider the cost.

The poppy is not a political statement. This is another ridiculous and dumb ruling by a Canadian judge. The poppy is a symbol of remembrance and respect for those who served, sacrificed and continue to represent Canada in uniform today. It transcends politics, partisanship and ideology – and it has done so for over 100 years. Most importantly, the poppy is a reminder of all those who came before us, who sacrificed so much for the freedoms and prosperity we enjoy today. Lest we forget.

What is stopping the CFIA from re-testing these birds, am I missing something here? 250+ days and healthy. Why would they be culled without further testing? Possible antibodies and perhaps a step closer to dealing with H5N1 and the answer is to cull? theglobeandmail.com/canada/article…
