I have listened to talk about "weatherizing your home" for over a decade, but I literally just did it and its NUTS how underutilized it is. You can make *enormous* efficiency gains for relatively little cost and the house gets more comfortable, too!

After U.S. cities voted for greener building codes, gas utilities gutted some of the most ambitious codes and industry lobbied to revoke governments' right to vote. They won. Now a gas utility is meddling even more. Advocates say it's a huge problem. huffpost.com/entry/building…

10. Advance energy efficiency initiatives. The🔑 to maximizing the benefits of an all-electric building is to make sure it is using energy as efficiently as possible. Ex: In the last year, RI, NV, & OR have passed new/updated appliance efficiency standards to reduce energy waste.

9. Support state & federal policy. We can make even more progress on all-electric buildings when state and federal policies are on our side. Ex: ME passed legislation that set a goal of installing 100k heat pumps by 2025. In just one year, 27k+ heat pumps were installed.
