Good insight here by @RealTonyGarcia on the importance of pace tonight. I did some more digging: - #Michigan was slowed down by opponents in only 7 games this year. Still were 5-2 (slowed down = fewer total possessions than opp's avg.) - UConn sped up in 16 games. 13-3 in those

According to covers.com tonight's 7.5-point spread in favor of #Michigan over UConn is the largest men's title game spread since UNC was favored by 7.5 over Michigan State back in 2009. UNC of course won that game by 17

Only 3 other National Championship games in the last 30 years have had larger spreads: 1996 - #1 UK (-14) vs. #4 Syracuse 1999 - #1 Duke (-9.5) vs. #1 UConn 2002 - #1 Maryland (-8) vs. #5 Indiana Of those, only Maryland covered ATS. UConn was only underdog to win outright.
