The Road to Hershey begins tomorrow starting with the McCaskey Wrestling Program girls followed by the boys on Saturday! The sectional tournament is the first step to making it to the prestigous PIAA state tournament. Best of luck to all of the athletes!

Incredibly proud of all of the kiddos that stepped on the line at the FVL SE Qualifier yesterday. It takes a lot of courage to go out there on your own. Congrats to the 11 placewinners and the 20+ competitors! Proud of each of them and the way they handled themselves.

If your youth wrestling coach is cursing at your athletes, you need to find a new room. I just spent a few days at Oklahoma State, one of the most talented rooms in college wrestling. I didn’t hear a single curse word delivered by leadership during practice. The best coaches in the country, coaching the best athletes in the country — with the most on the line. Now ask yourself, if the best coaches aren’t using that type of language with 20-year-olds, does it make sense to use it when addressing your 10-year-old sons and daughters? Negative energy is contagious, and so is the language. It’s tough to build someone up while belittling them at the same time. If you want your kids to be empowered, allow them to be led by coaches in control of their own emotions. Treat your wrestlers with dignity, and you get the most from them. Great work out of Harrisburg! Congratulations to each of the Fargo Qualifiers, many of which will be joining us for the @BeattheStreetsN Camp and Duals in Philly.

Local community and non-profit programs matter. Partnerships with the @SDoLancaster and others gives us the opportunity to support our underserved youth. While Lancaster is a smaller city, the impact is no less.
