Interesting opportunity today to see inside the old barn adjacent to the cricket pitch. Some lovely old timbers have survived, despite a fire several years ago.

@HistoryReunited Hi, they are not much use to BucksFHS. We tend to rely on our friends at @BucksArchives and @BNArchive for newspapers. Our problem is that we cannot store paper/parchment in the conditions required for preservation.

Bradenham parish was only 1001 acres in extent with 182 inhabitants in 1862 reports J Sheahan, the Manor house was the residence of Isaac Disraeli father of Benjamin who resided at Hughenden. #Buckinghamshire

Well worth a visit, and St James the Less is tucked round the back. Also take a look at St Mary Magalene, Boveney while in the area.

Boycott Manor House was re-erected by Mr. Higgins in the Elizabethan Style. It stands 400 yards from the old house and is built of red brick and Bath stone dressings. Set in gardens and terraces of about 2 acres. #Buckinghamshire

Boycott is a hamlet a mile south-west of Stowe & mainly consists of the manor house occupied by Charles Higgins Esq. There used to be a Chapel of Ease but much of the area were taken as grounds for Stowe and the population reduced. J. Sheahan, 1862 #Buckinghamshire
