Energy stocks in our opinion on a pullback with the cessation of the war are a buy. The easiest way to play this theme is with $xle, $xop, and $oih. The energy play reminds me of the breakout two years ago in $gld that John Rogue of v22Research nailed before gold went up 150%. Energy represents only 4% of the S&P 500 now. It has averaged 9% over the past 30 years and peaked at 15% in 2007. A 10% pullback would be enticing.

“It’s a bear market rally” Nobody knows in real time what it is. All you can do is look for signs of a potential bottom. Few things to look for: - Big volume near lows - Seller exhaustion (low volume on red days) - Key moving average reclaims (10/20/50/200) - Good news = good news - Bad news = good news - Leaders leading - VIX deflation - Price character change (bounces continue to get bid vs. getting sold) - Angry bearish folks (denial) - STRONG OPENS - STRONG CLOSES Bottom, bear market rally, whatever. You just need to follow what price is saying, everything else falls into place.

@thestockwhale I will wait for the structure to turn bullish again before adding positions, such as forming a clear higher high, instead of just relying on the feeling that it is cheap.

In the thirteenth century the average age of a student at Oxford was 13. By 15, most girls could run an entire household. Boys were an expert in their trade by the time they were 18 and could support a family. Modern society seems to tell teenagers they are old enough for sexualization via media or dating but not old enough to gain any kind of competent life skills. And no, medieval people didn’t have shorter lives. When you actually read the biographies and history, you’ll find the lifespan was roughly the same (death in 70s-80s).
